(Tokyo, Chuo-ku, Shintomi - CEO: Chikara Shinomiya) today announced the immediate availability of the Esprit for Digital Picture Frame solution based on version 2.1 of its Esprit source code embedded browser platform, also announced today (see separate announcement), now supporting the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) 0.91, 1.0, and 2.0 web feed formats.
The Esprit for Digital Picture Frame Solution combines the fully customizable, extensible, Esprit source code browser platform with industry-leading web services platform FrameChannel from Frame Media, and the high-performance, cost-effective VT8430X, VT8500, and VT8500L application processor series from VIA Technologies. It allows OEMs and manufacturers of connected digital frames to capitalize on the exploding growth of the market, by making it possible to differentiate with unique and advanced features, while not compromising on the underlying hardware platform. They can offer an enhanced user experience, leveraging the built-in RSS capabilities of the Esprit browser platform to provide immediate access to hundreds of content channels, and to aggregate content from the most popular photo sharing sites and social networks.
