Websoft International Unveils Version 2.1 of its Esprit™ Embedded Browser Platform featuring RSS support and Overall Performance Improvement by more than 30%

Fully Customizable and Extensible Source Code Browser Platform Allows OEMs, Manufacturers, and Operators of Connected Devices to Offer Unique and Compelling User Experiences and Rapidly Respond to Changing Market Needs

June 17, 2008

Tokyo, Japan - June 17, 2008 - Websoft International Inc. (Tokyo, Chuo-ku, Shintomi - CEO: Chikara Shinomiya) today announced the immediate availability of version 2.1 of its Esprit source code embedded browser platform, with the addition of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) 0.91, 1.0, and 2.0 support, and significant performance improvements by more than 30%.

The integration of RSS into the Esprit browser platform makes it possible for developers and manufacturers of connected devices to not only let users automatically retrieve, subscribe to, view, and store history information of RSS feeds, but also to design new types of applications for their devices that use the RSS capabilities of the Esprit browser, thus creating unique and rich user experiences.

This makes the Esprit browser platform particularly well-suited for the exploding digital picture frame market, where Websoft International has partnered with web services platform provider Frame Media and hardware platform provider Via Technologies to offer a best-of-breed platform for developing content-rich wireless digital picture frames. (see separate announcement)

"Built on an entirely modular architecture of service libraries, which you can tailor to your needs, allowing you to keep only the modules that you want, and implementing AJAX and JavaScript, while complying with the W3C standards, Esprit is a source code platform that can respond to the vast array of customers' needs. Internet-based services are diversifying considerably, and we believe that, as a source code platform, it can really facilitate and speed up development time for all of our customers.", said Chikara Shinomiya, President and Chief Executive Officer of Websoft International, Inc.
